Terms of Service

Effective date: 15 July 2026

These Terms of Service ("Terms") are a binding agreement between you and Wise Platform Limited, the company that operates HeySifu ("HeySifu", "we", "us" or "our"), governing your use of the HeySifu website and services (the "Service"). By using the Service you agree to these Terms and to our Privacy Policy. If you do not agree, do not use the Service.

1. What HeySifu is

HeySifu turns publicly available YouTube cooking videos into structured, step-by-step recipes using artificial intelligence. The Service lets you browse recipes, play the original videos through YouTube's embedded player, save videos to a personal library, add personal notes, and submit YouTube links for analysis.

2. Eligibility and your account

• You must be old enough to form a binding contract in your place of residence, or use the Service with the consent and supervision of a parent or legal guardian. The Service is not directed at children under 13.
• Login is by one-time code sent to your email. You are responsible for keeping access to your email account secure; anyone who controls your email can access your HeySifu account.
• You are responsible for all activity that happens under your account.

3. AI-generated content — important disclaimer

All recipe content on the Service — including titles, steps, timings, ingredient lists, quantities, tools, nutrition estimates and allergen labels — is generated automatically by AI from the source video. It is provided for general reference only and may be incomplete, inaccurate or wrong.

• Allergens: allergen labels are AI-generated and must not be relied upon. If you or anyone you cook for has a food allergy or intolerance, always verify every ingredient yourself from the original video and product packaging. We accept no responsibility for allergic reactions or other harm resulting from reliance on AI-generated allergen or ingredient information.
• Food safety: cooking times and temperatures are estimates. You are responsible for ensuring food is prepared, cooked and stored safely.
• Not professional advice: nothing on the Service is medical, nutritional or dietary advice. Consult a qualified professional for such matters.
• We do not guarantee that any recipe will succeed or match the source video exactly.

4. YouTube videos and third-party content

• All videos remain the property of their creators and are hosted by YouTube, not by us. We do not claim any ownership of, or responsibility for, video content.
• Videos are played through YouTube's embedded player, and your viewing is also subject to YouTube's own Terms of Service and Google's Privacy Policy.
• If you are a video creator and would like a recipe generated from your video removed from the Service, contact us at support@heysifu.com and we will review promptly.

5. Submitting videos

• You may only submit links to videos that are publicly available on YouTube and embeddable.
• Submissions are subject to automatic checks (for example, cooking-content classification and length limits) and daily quotas, which we may change at any time. We may accept, reject, delay or remove any submission at our discretion.
• Processing depends on third-party AI services and may be delayed or unavailable from time to time. A submission that stays in a waiting state will be processed automatically when capacity is restored, but we do not guarantee processing times.

6. Your notes and shared content

• You keep ownership of the personal notes you write.
• You grant us a non-exclusive, worldwide, royalty-free licence to store, display and transmit your notes as needed to operate the Service — including showing them to people you share them with.
• If you create a share link, anyone with the link can view those notes and your display name, and may import a copy into their own account. Copies already imported by others are theirs and are not removed when you delete your share link or account.
• Do not include personal, sensitive or unlawful content in notes.

7. Acceptable use

You agree not to:

• break the law or infringe others' rights while using the Service;
• attempt to gain unauthorised access to accounts, systems or data;
• scrape, bulk-download or systematically extract content or data from the Service;
• interfere with the operation of the Service, or circumvent rate limits and quotas;
• use the Service to develop a competing dataset or to train models on our content;
• submit content that is unlawful, deceptive, or intended to abuse the AI pipeline.

8. Our content and licence to you

The Service — including its software, design, and the structured recipe data we generate — is owned by or licensed to us and protected by intellectual-property laws. We grant you a personal, non-exclusive, non-transferable, revocable licence to use the Service for your own non-commercial cooking use. All rights not expressly granted are reserved.

9. Free service, quotas and future paid plans

The Service is currently free to use, subject to fair-use quotas (such as a daily video-submission limit). We may introduce paid plans or change quotas in the future; if we do, we will present the applicable terms and pricing before you are charged anything. Nothing in these Terms obliges us to keep any feature free or available.

10. Changes, suspension and termination

• We may modify, suspend or discontinue any part of the Service at any time.
• We may suspend or terminate your account if you materially breach these Terms, abuse the Service, or where required by law.
• You may stop using the Service at any time and may delete your account from your account page.

11. Disclaimers

The Service is provided "as is" and "as available", without warranties of any kind, express or implied, including fitness for a particular purpose, accuracy, availability or non-infringement, to the maximum extent permitted by law. We do not warrant that the Service will be uninterrupted, error-free or secure.

12. Limitation of liability

To the maximum extent permitted by law, HeySifu and its operators will not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential or punitive damages, or any loss of profits, data or goodwill, arising from or related to your use of (or inability to use) the Service — including reliance on AI-generated recipe, ingredient or allergen information. To the extent liability cannot be excluded, our total aggregate liability is limited to the greater of the amount you paid us in the 12 months before the claim (currently zero) or HK$500. Nothing in these Terms excludes liability that cannot be excluded by law, including for death or personal injury caused by our negligence, or for fraud.

13. Indemnity

You agree to indemnify us against claims, losses and expenses (including reasonable legal fees) arising from your breach of these Terms or your misuse of the Service.

14. Governing law

These Terms are governed by the laws of the Hong Kong Special Administrative Region, and the courts of Hong Kong have exclusive jurisdiction over any dispute, without prejudice to any mandatory consumer protections you enjoy in your place of residence.

15. General

• If any provision of these Terms is found unenforceable, the rest remain in effect.
• Our failure to enforce a right is not a waiver of it.
• We may update these Terms from time to time; material changes will be signalled by updating the effective date above and, where appropriate, an in-Service notice. Continued use after changes take effect means you accept them.
• The English version of these Terms is the authoritative version; translations, if provided, are for convenience only and the English version prevails in case of any inconsistency.
